ATLANTA, March 1, 2012 –The Atlanta Dream announced today the team has signed free agent guard Ketia Swanier to a multi-year deal. Per team policy, further terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Ketia is a tremendous basketball player with a great knowledge of the game,” said Dream General Manager and Head Coach Marynell Meadors. “She fits our style of play because she likes to run and push the ball up the floor. Ketia is going to give us valuable minutes at point guard and she also brings versatility as a swing player that’s going to really help us overall at the guard position."

She appeared in 29 games for the Mercury in 2011, averaging 2.7 points and 2.3 assists per game. In four seasons in the WNBA, Swanier is averaging 2.6 points and 1.7 assists per game.
